Composite Dental Bonding

Performed in a simple one office procedure composite bondings can quickly and effectively cover chips and uneven tooth surfaces. Call us Today to see if you are a candidate for dental bonding.

Dental bonding or composite bonding is a safe, quick and simple procedure performed in the hands of a prosthodontic dental specialist Dr. David Zelby, whose primary focus and education deals with the aesthetic appearance and function of your smile.

Teeth affected by chips, discoloration, spaces and gaps, and even misalignment can often be effectively restored with cosmetic dental bonding. This technique has been used in dental procedures for decades, and is very useful for enhancing both aesthetics and function of the teeth. One of our experienced dentists at Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry of Atlanta will apply a durable composite filling material to the affected tooth. We use a special lifelike composite material, paying careful attention to the color and appearance of your natural teeth.  This material is then hardened by a high-intensity light, and sculpted to give the best possible cosmetic results.  Dental Bonding requires little advanced tooth preparation and usually no enamel reduction as opposed to dental veneers which requires a reduction in the natural tooth surface.  Advances in cosmetic dental bonding procedures have led to improved strength and durability.  The results, with proper care can last for a very long time.

Dr. David Zelby will begin by slightly roughening the tooth surface.  A composite bonding material is applied to the prepared tooth surface , carefully shaping and sculpting the bonding material to produce a natural look.  The bonding material will be hardened using a special light.  After the newly reshaped tooth is trimmed and polished, it’s time for us to hand you the mirror!  You’ll be amazed!

Cosmetic dental bonding can often be an excellent add-on to procedures and combined with such dental treatments as teeth whitening and/or porcelain veneers for a complete smile makeover.
